Meet Teresa!

In 2018 I came to the Community House on Broadway with my two daughters. I was homeless, lost, abandoned, abused, and had so many suicidal thoughts that I was afraid of myself. I had a short time clean from meth. I lived in the Community House for eight months. In that time I completed intense mental health treatment, drug treatment, parenting classes, housing classes, and employment services. I also got my relationship back with God! Also my daughter’s got help with their mental health and getting back on track with school. I was gifted a car when we lived there. I was then able to start reconnecting with my other children and family. With the help of employment services I soon landed an amazing job at St. John’s Medical Center as a cook where I excelled. I met so many amazing people in the five years I worked there. In July 2024 I moved out of state and got my dream job as a dietary supervisor in a hospital where I am thriving and doing amazing. My girls are thriving and doing absolutely amazing as well! Today I have six years and four months clean. In that time I have learned to love myself which I have never been able to do! I could not be where I am at without all the angels from the Community House who go above and beyond for the homeless and broken people. I am truly grateful for all you have done for my family.
